What is BMI?
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure that uses your height and weight to work out if your weight is healthy. BMI is calculated by dividing your weight in kilograms by your height in meters squared.
While BMI is a useful indicator, it has limitations. It doesn't distinguish between muscle and fat mass, and it may not be accurate for athletes, elderly people, or pregnant women.
BMI Categories

Tips for a Healthy Weight
Balanced Diet
Focus on whole foods, plenty of vegetables, fruits, lean proteins, and whole grains. Limit processed foods and added sugars.
Regular Exercise
Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity per week, plus strength training.
Quality Sleep
Get 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night. Poor sleep is linked to weight gain and increased appetite.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger.
